COMMANDER of the Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General Mendaka Samarasinghe bade goodbye to officers and soldiers at Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) last morning (23) and left Jaffna to take up duties as the Chief of Staff at Army Headquarters, Colombo.
 
Major General Samarasinghe was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of the 1st Field Engineer Regiment. He also planted a mango sapling in the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) premises after the parade. During the tea party organized for him at Other Ranks’ mess, he was presented a memento by all members in appreciation of his services to the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna).
